Diversity Month 2022 at Montanuniversität Leoben

The Montanuniversität Leoben is committed to a culture of diversity, gender equality, appreciation, respect and tolerance for the diversity of all people. In May, we therefore celebrated EU Diversity Month 2022 together for the first time at the Montanuniversität Leoben! The activities ranged from workshops and lectures to a movie night. The numerous participants were enthusiastic and the focus will be continued next year.

Everyone should have the right to be who they are, no matter where they are.
Let's celebrate diversity together!

Fostering inclusive access and accessibility in chemical laboratories: Inclusion-in-lab Leoben

Chemistry should be accessible for everyone, which also includes accessibility to chemical laboratories and the operability of analytical equipment, such as software, but also hardware (e.g. mass spectrometer). Within the framework of this project, our Chair of General & Analytical Chemistry, funded by the Royal Society of Chemistry and kindly supported by the Department for Diversity and Equality of the ÖH Leoben, wants to develop measures to promote accessibility and operability of analytical equipment for students and scientists with impairments. For this purpose, a questionnaire was developed to investigate the situation of people with conscious and unconscious barriers in the laboratory, especially with regard to analytical instruments.
More information about this and the questionnaire can be found here: https://icpms-leoben2022.at/inclusion-in-lab
